Moon has been visiting countries around the Europe for sports diplomacy, starting with the visit to Alexandros Nikolaidis’s Memorial in Greece earlier this year.

At this meeting, Moon has sought to find various measures together to enhance and strengthen Taekwondo’s position among the international sports in the future. In particular, they agreed common goals and will to promote sports diplomacy between S. Korea and Spain in the frame of Taekwondo development.
From this meeting, President Moon says, “It is important for all Taekwondo related organizations and institutions to do their best for now, but above all, what they all need to focus is to strengthen their capability enough to provide the vision of next 50 years of Taekwondo future and development.”
Also, he says, “Taekwondo, as one of the official Olympic Sports, has sufficient quantitative scalability and accessibility, but in a qualitative point, I feel like it is still insufficient. Therefore, to continuously strengthen its position in the world sports, what we need to focus on is its qualitative scalability by increasing its influence through sports diplomacy in the world, not just in Korea.”
With his vision, President Moon will consistently cooperate with domestic and foreign taekwondo organizations and institutions to present his vision for the development of Taekwondo and to increase influence of Taekwondo’s sports power.
